Topcor 5.8cm 58mm f1.4 re automatic
Phoenix Hitomi Topcon RE.Auto-Topcor 58mm 5.8cm f/1.4
This lens was later released in a re-engraved version, and his limited-edition re-engraved version was once raised to a value of nearly 10,000 yuan.
The RE.AUTO-TOPCOR 58mm f/1.4 lens produced by Tokyo Optical Company in 1963, its original body is Topcon RE Super, known as the world’s first mass-produced SLR camera with open TTL metering function.
After 72 years it was changed to a black version. At the beginning of this century, this head was improved and re-engraved twice by the Japanese Cosina company. Netizens took the meaning of Phoenix regeneration and called it “Phoenix Pupil”.
What is more special is that the TOPCOR 58mm f/1.4 lens adopts the Exakta mount that people are not familiar with today. As for why this mount was used instead of the M42 screw mount that was in the limelight at the time, it may be that the designers thought that the M42 lenses on the market at that time could not meet their requirements, while the high-quality lenses of the Exakta mount were more. (such as Carl Zeiss Jena’s Biotar 75mm f/1.5, Sonnar 135mm f/4 and Sonnar 180mm f/2.8 and other classic names), plus Topcon itself also produces some high-quality lenses, this is its optional lens The group is quite impressive in both quality and quantity.

TOPCON
Topcon Corporation (トプコン Co., Ltd., Kabushiki-gaisha Topukon) is now a Japanese manufacturer of ophthalmology and measurement optics.
But before that he was a well-known camera and lens manufacturer in Japan.
Tokyo Kogaku produced cameras, starting with the 6 x 4.5 cm medium format model Lord in 1937. The 127 film camera was introduced the following year. The Primoflex I twin-lens reflex camera was introduced in 1951. The Topcon 35A was introduced in 1953. In 1960, the company produced a 6×9 camera on orders from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. It originally used Mamiya lenses; civilian models had Topcon lenses.
With the 35mm Topcon RE Super in 1963, the company pioneered a full-aperture, through-the-lens metered camera. Production of the SLR IC-1 AUTO began around 1973; “IC” stands for “integrated circuit” and is used for iris control. The company continued to innovate until it left the line of business in 1981. The Charles Beseler company imports the camera series to the United States, and the RE-Super is renamed the Super-D.
Around 1965, the U.S. Navy tested cameras from several Japanese and German manufacturers, including the Nikon F. The Topcon Super D was the winner of this competition and was used exclusively by the Navy until 1977.
